Our Remarkable Stills series holds some of the oldest and rarest spirits ever released by our distillery, celebrating the alchemy and engineering of Loch Lomond’s whisky-making process.
Distilled in 1974, this liquid started its journey in refill American Oak casks. After 43 years the liquid was transferred into 2nd fill Oloroso Sherry casks to add additional dried, tropical fruit complexity to complement the distillery’s orchard fruit characteristics created by our Remarkable Stills. The spirit is 100% unpeated spirit from our unique Straight Neck pot stills. Our stills give us superior control at the distillation stage, allowing the spirit to be taken off at a higher collection strength. Spirit taken off at this strength has a distinctive fruit character, which has become the Loch Lomond Distillery’s signature and comes to the forefront of this release.
