Loch Lomond Whiskies and Golf Australia have signed a new partnership to give golfers and whisky fans more opportunities to enjoy the iconic Scotch Single Malt across the country.
Loch Lomond Whiskies is The Official Spirit of The Open and Women’s British Open. The Loch Lomond Distillery, based in Alexandria, Scotland, has one of the oldest heritages in the industry and can trace its roots back to the early 1800’s.
Golf Australia are the sport’s governing body with the responsibility of the marketing and promotion of the sport. They represent 400,000 club golfers who play in excess of 10 million competition rounds per year. Currently approximately 38,000 golf handicaps are checked daily through golf.org.au.
Whisky fans in Australia can get their hands on a bottle of Loch Lomond Whiskies in First Choice, Liquorland and Vintage Cellars. Golf fans will also get the chance to win a trip to The Open thanks to Loch Lomond Whiskies, with entry details to be announced in the coming weeks. The 148th Open takes place at Royal Portrush, Northern Ireland, from July 14th – 21st.
Commenting on the launch of the partnership, Loch Lomond Whiskies CMO, John Grieveson, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to agree to this partnership with Golf Australia which will give even more whisky and golf fans the chance to enjoy our Single Malts. “Australia is a hugely important market for us and we already have plenty of ideas on how we can bring the partnership to life across the entire country.”
Golf Australia’s Commercial General Manager, Kent Boorman, added: “To have a global brand like Loch Lomond Whiskies partner with Golf Australia is incredibly exciting. “We look forward to showcasing their greater partnership with The Open Championship in the local marketplace, whilst also introducing ways to reward and recognise Australian golfers.”
